Stop the Brutality
Not long ago it was Abner Louima
And the young Black woman in California
The teenager in Brooklyn and Rodney King
I cannot understand what is happening
Now we have it right here in the Bronx
These barbaric acts we must all denounce
If this thing continues indefinitely
We wouldn't see another century
Right across the river in new Jersey
A tiger needed one shot for eternity
But a poor Black man just out for a snack
Was shot nineteen times most of them in the back
Now I am afraid to go out after eight
For I might end up with the same fate
Amadou Diallo was healthy and sound
Now he is six feet underground
Rev. Sharpton and Jesse Jackson
Are doing what is supposed to be done
Organizing marches and protest meetings
So everyone can express their true feelings
But the Mayor has seen only one thing wrong
Using too many shots to bring Diallo down
We'll use different bullets next time he said
But make sure them fellows end up dead
I'm appealing to the President and his cabinet
Stop this now or you will regret
And if they cannot put an end to this problem
A foreign Power might do it for them
I do not know what is in store
But stranger things have happened before
Let us all pray to the Almighty
Before Democracy is replaced with anarchy.
